Puppy Adoption Information
We trust that as you plan for the adoption of your new bernedoodle puppy, you are considering all aspects of what it will mean to have a young puppy in your home. We hope that it will be a lifelong (dog years) journey of friendship, loyalty, and love and that you will be able to provide for his/her health and companionship needs.
Our adoption process is quite simple.
If the bernedoodle puppies are not born yet and you are wanting a puppy from a future litter:
Fill out our puppy contract either by:
downloading it, filling it out, and emailing it back
or printing it, filling it out, scanning, and emailing it back to us. Please state the parent dog preference if you have a preference, also size, sex, color, and temperament of the puppy you are looking for.
Once we receive the contract, we will sign our portion and send it back to you.
Pay your $500 non-refundable deposit. Once this is paid, we will hold your place on our waitlist. We usually only take deposits for 6 puppies per litter prior to the puppies being born to ensure that those families that give deposits will receive a puppy from the litter they want. (Our mom dogs typically have more than 6 puppies).
We will reach out to you when a female is bred at the time of ultrasound to confirm pregnancy, then again at the time the puppies are born so that you can plan your life around the day you will bring your puppy home when it is 8 weeks old. Puppy selection is done when the puppies are about 5 weeks old. We usually set a weekend aside so that families can choose, either in person, via photo/video, or Facetime. Selection is done on a first-come basis, based on the signed contract dates. Our bernedoodle puppies are microchipped, for positive identification, when they are about 3 weeks old so when you select your puppy the microchip number will be added to the contract.
If the puppies are born and not all spoken for, these will be advertised as available. If you are a family selecting an “extra bernedoodle puppy” that is available for adoption: then you can choose your puppy (description and microchip number) and fill out an application, send it back (as noted above), pay your deposit and that puppy will be reserved as yours and no longer advertised as available.
